HA Fillers Vs Penile Implants for Penis Enlargement

Go back to news stories

If you look up penis enlargement online, you’ll find a lot of information. Different clinics will be offering different treatments, for different prices, but all promising similar effects.

However, penis enhancement treatments aren’t just for an increase in size. Some are designed to help men who suffer from erectile dysfunction or a similar illness that affects their confidence.

No matter your reason for looking into penis enlargement, there is a lot of false information and many overly ambitious promises out there. At the MHC, we’re all about transparency. So today let’s talk about the pros and cons of penile implants, whether they’ll be right for you, and how they compare to our HA fillers

What are Penile Implants?

Penile implants are devices that are installed into the penis, allowing men with erectile dysfunction (ED), to get and maintain an erection.

There are two main types of penile implant. First are semirigid rods, solid devices that make the penis firm at all times. The penis will remain bendable, so it can be tucked away or brought forward for sexual intercourse. More advanced positionable penile implants hold position better thanks to a spring on each end.

The other type of penis implant are inflatable. Inflatable implants, as the name suggest, can be inflated to create an erection. Two-piece implants use a reservoir of fluid, which can be used to inflate the penis when the user needs it. Three-piece implants are similar, but the reservoir is installed into the scrotum for ease of use.

When to Consider Penile Implants

Penile implants, thanks to the surgery required and the risks involved, should be used as a last resort for men with ED. If you have tried pharmaceutical options and external devices like a penis pump to no avail, only then should implants be considered.

It’s important to note that ED can also be psychological, known as psychogenic ED, and can be the result of stress, anxiety, or depression. This means it is especially important to have in-depth consultations before you consider penile implants or other treatments for erectile dysfunction.

If you do think they’re right for you, or you at least want to know more, it’s vital that you understand the potential risks.

The Risks of Penile Implants

If you’re considering any form of penis enlargement surgery or enhancement, you need to know the risks. Penile implants are an especially invasive procedure that involves surgery on the penis and scrotum, so extra care during the surgery and intensive recovery and aftercare will all be necessary.

Infection is the most common risk, as is the case with most surgeries and even HA filler injections. There may also be factors that increase the risk of infection, such as the patient having diabetes or not following their aftercare procedures correctly. At the MHC, even though the risk of infection is low, we always ensure that every client understands their aftercare to the letter, and have a detailed guide to follow post-procedure.

There are also more severe issues that can occur if you have a penile implant installed. The devices can fail, and additional surgery will be needed to remove or replace them. Sometimes a malfunctioned implant can be left if you don’t want another surgery.

In some cases, the implant can get stuck to the skin inside the penis and erode it, potentially as the result of an infection. This will require another surgery to adjust or remove it.

As you can see, the risks are quite harsh, and this ignores the fact that the surgery itself can have complications. This is another reason why penile implants aren’t often recommended by trusted clinics, and you should at least consider other options first.

Speaking of which…

The Best Alternative to Penile Implants

Our range of HA fillers are designed to increase the girth (thickness) of your penis. This is done via injections of Hyaluronic Acid fillers, which are completely safe and very effective.

Naturally, an increase in girth does not help with erectile dysfunction or similar issues. That’s why we also provide the P-Shot, which helps you to achieve and maintain an erection without surgery. It can also improve sexual performance, and is recommended for people with illnesses such as Peyronie’s disease as it promotes natural healing.

Like our fillers, the P-Shot is painless, and the procedure is complete in under an hour. Once done, we inform you of all the necessary aftercare (which will have been explained to you before the procedure began) so you know exactly what to do in order to see the best results.

We have had clients in the past who had implants installed, but still weren’t satisfied with the size/shape of their penis. Thankfully, our HA fillers can still be used on a penis with penile implants, so you can increase the thickness and remove imperfections with no issues whatsoever.
